Abronye remanded in custody to reappear before the court on Friday

Abronye, also known as Kwame Baffoe, has been remanded into police custody and is expected to reappear in court on Friday, September 12.
The Ghana Police Service confirmed his arrest on Monday, September 8, citing “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.” He was taken into custody earlier that day and remains in detention.
Although the Police have not disclosed full details of the conduct that led to his arrest, the case has attracted national attention due to Abronye’s political profile.
Abronye currently holds the position of Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and is known for his forthright political commentary.
His arrest follows a series of recent developments, including his filing for political asylum in eight countries—the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, Germany, and Côte d’Ivoire.
In his applications, Abronye alleged political persecution and threats to his life, accusing the government of misusing state security agencies for political gain.
As part of the investigation, police also searched the home of former NPP Youth Organiser Moses Abor on Sunday but did not find Abronye at the time.
The case will resume on Friday when the court hears the charges and decides on the next course of action.
