Helicopter crash victims' children awarded full scholarships

The children of the eight August 6 helicopter crash victims have been granted full scholarships.

The announcement was made during a formal ceremony at the Office of the Chief of Staff, where Julius Debrah received the scholarship offer on behalf of the families.
This initiative is a result of a collaboration between B5 Plus Group and DPS International School.

The programme provides full scholarships to two children from each bereaved family to attend DPS International School in Tema, encompassing all educational expenses from basic level to A-Levels, including tuition fees, uniforms, and boarding facilities as necessary.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah commended the initiative for exemplifying private sector commitment to nation-building and social responsibility.

Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, Presidential Advisor on Legal Affairs and former Attorney-General, commended the initiative, emphasizing the long-term benefits of investing in the education of the affected children.
She praised DPS International for its excellent academic reputation.

She pointed out that Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie, son of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and one of the school’s notable alumni, is currently enrolled in Astronomy studies at Wesleyan University in the United States.
In her view, the initiative will receive a warm welcome from the President, as it constitutes a meaningful tribute to the lives lost.
