Fire contained at Atonsu Bokro Market in Ashanti Region
A fire broke out in sections of the Atonsu Bokro Market in the Ashanti Region, prompting a rapid response from the Ghana National Fire Service. Firefighters, with support from local residents, worked to bring the blaze under control.
The Fire Service reported challenges in tackling the fire due to a faulty fire branch on the only available fire tender, which led to water leakage and slowed containment efforts.
Despite these difficulties, personnel managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the market.
Residents assisted fire personnel by helping to douse the flames, contributing to the eventual containment of the fire.
The Fire Service confirmed that the situation is now under control, and no injuries have been reported.
