Two students from Kade Senior High Technical School in the Eastern Region have issued a public apology to a teacher they assaulted, following their conviction and sentencing by a court.

The apology comes after four students were found guilty of attacking Michael Quayson, a teacher at the school, for enforcing strict examination rules during the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

According to court testimony, the students became enraged with Mr. Quayson after his supervision prevented them from engaging in examination malpractice. The situation escalated into an assault on the teacher, prompting police intervention and prosecution.

The court convicted all four students and imposed a fine of GH¢3,800 on each, with the option of six months imprisonment if the fine is not paid. As part of the ruling, the court ordered that GH¢2,000 from each fine be paid directly to Mr. Quayson as compensation for the attack.

Following the judgment, two of the students expressed remorse and apologized to the teacher, acknowledging their actions were wrong and disrespectful.

They appealed for forgiveness and pledged to conduct themselves better in the future.
