The Confédération Africaine de Football, CAF, has issued a strong rebuke to the actions of certain players and officials following the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final between Morocco and Senegal in Rabat.

In a statement released after the match on Sunday night, CAF characterised the behaviour as unacceptable and stressed that such actions have no place in African football.

The football body expressed particular concern about incidents directed at match officials and organisers during and after the final. CAF reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of the game and supporting referees and officials who carry out their duties under intense pressure at major tournaments.

The organisation stated that it is reviewing all available footage from the final and will forward its findings to the appropriate disciplinary bodies. CAF added that firm action will be taken against anyone found to have breached its regulations.

The Africa Cup of Nations final brought the tournament to a close in front of a packed stadium and millions of viewers across the continent, with CAF noting that the occasion should reflect respect, professionalism and fair play at the highest level of African football.
