Amenfi Central MP pays GH₵ 84,240 monthly to support teaching and learning

The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has introduced a teacher support programme that provides direct financial assistance to basic schools across the constituency, benefiting thousands of pupils and teachers.
The Teacher Initiative currently covers 39 basic schools, reaching a total of 8,829 pupils and 137 teachers.
Under the programme, GH₵ 84,240 is distributed every month to support teaching and learning activities. Over a seven month period, the total investment amounts to GH₵ 589,680.
Schools benefiting from the initiative include Agyedum D/A, Obing Methodist Primary and Chichiso No. 2, among others across the district. Based on staff strength and pupil enrollment, each school receives between GH₵ 8,400 and GH₵ 22,400 over the seven months.
The initiative is aimed at easing pressure on teachers and improving learning conditions in public basic schools, while recognising the critical role educators play in shaping the future of children in the constituency.
Education stakeholders and community members have welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and practical.
Many have praised Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe for prioritising education and expressed confidence that the Teacher Initiative will have a lasting positive effect on schools and the wider Amenfi Central community.
