Mahama hands over 40 armoured vehicles to Ghana Police

The Ghana Police Service has received forty new armoured vehicles to augment operational capacity and enhance public safety nationwide.

The handing-over ceremony occurred on Thursday, December 4, and was attended by President John Mahama, government officials, and police leadership.

Addressing officers at the ceremony, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu assured that the vehicles would be strategically deployed and properly maintained to achieve their intended objectives, commending the government for its intervention.

“We wish to sincerely express our profound gratitude to the government for thinking about us and prioritising our welfare. Our assurance to you is that the vehicles will be well-maintained and strategically deployed to achieve the intended objectives,” he said.

The event was also attended by Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak and numerous senior police officers, underscoring the government’s dedication to supporting law enforcement agencies.

IGP Yohunu stressed that the new vehicles would substantially enhance the Service’s capacity to respond to emergencies, secure communities, and maintain law and order.

He exhorted officers to utilize the assets responsibly and continue their mission of safeguarding life and property nationwide.
