Woman killed in shark attack in Australia
A woman has died, and a man has sustained serious injuries following a shark attack at a remote beach in New South Wales, Australia.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man, also in his 20s, was airlifted to a hospital in Newcastle in critical condition.
Paramedics were called to Kylies Beach, within Crowdy Bay National Park, approximately 300km north of Sydney, early Thursday morning.
Authorities commended a bystander for applying a makeshift tourniquet to the man’s leg, potentially saving his life.
