A/R: One hospitalised after fire destroys house at Aboabo Number 2
On Wednesday, November 27, 2025, a fire ravaged a four-bedroom house at Aboabo Number 2 in the Asokore Mampong Municipality, leaving one person hospitalised.
The fire is believed to have started at approximately 6:30 p.m. Haruna Abdul Rashid, the Assembly Member for the area, reported that he was informed of the incident by a stranger.
Several young men from the community endeavoured to control the fire, but one of them was electrocuted during the process.
The injured volunteer is currently undergoing treatment and is said to be recovering.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) swiftly intervened by disconnecting the transformer that supplies power to the affected house, thereby preventing further danger. Technicians were later seen working on the lines to restore electricity to nearby homes.
The affected household has been advised to wait until assessments are completed on Thursday before re-entering the property.
