ER: 37-year-old carpenter arrested for alleged murder at Kyebi Newtown

A 37-year-old carpenter has been apprehended by the Eastern South Regional Police Command for alleged murder at Kyebi Newtown in the Abuakwa South Municipality.

According to a statement from the Eastern South police, the suspect allegedly slashed the throat of the deceased with a cutlass following a misunderstanding on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The Police, upon receipt of a distress call, deployed detectives and a crime scene management team to the scene to commence investigations.

Upon arrival, a male adult body identified as Jonas Bash was found. The body has since been deposited at the Kyebi Government Hospital morgue for subsequent referral to the Police Hospital in Accra for autopsy and preservation.

The suspect is in police custody and will be processed for court as investigations continue.
