U.S. will not stand by while Christians are slaughtered in Nigeria- President Donald Trump

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has condemned the rising violence against Christians in Nigeria, calling it an “existential threat” to Christianity.

In a statement from the White House, Trump blamed “radical Islamists” for the killings and announced plans to designate Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern.” He urged U.S. lawmakers to investigate the crisis and take immediate action, stressing that America “cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening.”

The Nigerian government, however, has rejected the characterization, stating that the violence in the country is complex and not solely based on religion.
