“I won’t relocate abroad; Ghanaians will mock me if I work at McDonald’s” – Maame Serwaa

Kumawood actress Maame Serwaa has ruled out any plans of permanently relocating abroad, citing fears of being mocked by some Ghanaians over the kind of work she might take up.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, Maame Serwaa explained that though she travels outside Ghana occasionally, it is solely for work, and she always returns home afterward.
She stated that if she ever moved abroad, she would prefer to work rather than remain idle — but fears Ghanaians would judge her harshly if she took a regular job such as working at McDonald’s.
“It’s not wrong to work at McDonald’s, but you know how our people are — they would start talking. Some would say, ‘When she was in Ghana, she spent all her money on lifestyle and slayqueening,’ even when that’s not true,” she said.
Maame Serwaa added that while her career may not have reached her ultimate goals yet, she remains grateful for her progress and the opportunities acting has brought her over the years.
