Ghana records 657 Mpox cases after confirming 36 new infections – GHS

The Ghana Health Service has reported a continued rise in Mpox cases, with 36 new infections confirmed, totaling 657 cases.
As of September 28, 2025, the situational report indicates three deaths and one hospitalized patient.
A 21-day vaccination campaign against Mpox is presently being implemented in targeted communities in the western region, the epicenter of the disease.
On Saturday, October 4, the region received 20,000 doses of the vaccine.
This measure is designed to reinforce ongoing initiatives to curb the disease’s spread across the country. The primary mode of Mpox transmission is through close contact with an infected person.
The public is encouraged to adopt preventive measures and seek immediate medical attention when symptoms arise.
