Samini’s influence was instrumental to my success- Kofi Kinaata

Award-winning Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata has reflected on a key turning point in his career, revealing that his breakthrough in the music industry was largely due to dancehall legend Samini.
In an exclusive interview with GhPage’s Rashad, the “Things Fall Apart” hitmaker shared how joining Samini’s Highgrade Family label opened doors that helped shape his artistry and identity as a musician.
Kinaata explained that being under Samini’s mentorship allowed him to share studio sessions with Ghanaian music heavyweights such as Samini, Stonebwoy, and the late Castro.
According to him, those experiences refined his craft and built the confidence that propelled him to fame. “After Samini signed me to his Highgrade Family label, I got the chance to share the studio with great musicians like Samini himself, Stonebwoy, Castro, and others. That experience changed everything for me,” Kinaata revealed.
He expressed deep gratitude to his former label boss, describing Samini as both a mentor and a generous figure who believed in his potential from the start. “I will always thank Samini for his benevolence and mentorship. He played a big role in my success,” Kinaata added, emphasizing how the experience continues to influence his musical journey today.
