Seven reported dead in a gory accident on Nkawkaw-Accra road

A tragic accident at Nkawada No. 2 on the Nkawkaw–Accra highway has claimed the lives of seven people after a Sprinter bus collided head-on with a trailer.
According to eyewitness Kwame Agyemang, the incident occurred at approximately 1:47 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26.
The Sprinter, bearing registration number AW 4619-14, was traveling from Somanya in the Eastern Region to Kumasi.
A vehicle was involved in a collision with a truck bearing the registration GN 114-21, which was en route from Kumasi to Accra under circumstances that are still being investigated.
Although the truck driver and mate survived the accident without injuries, they have been detained to aid in the investigation.
According to Agyemang, the truck driver alleged that he was unaware of the rainfall at the time of the accident.
The victims included a mother and child, whose bodies were dismembered, while others sustained critical injuries.
The injured were rushed to Enyiresi Government Hospital and Kenop Hospital at Nkawkaw for medical treatment. Initial reports suggest that the truck driver may have dozed off behind the wheel.
