Man, 36, dies after being involved in a love triangle confrontation in Mpasatia

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, a dispute over a romantic relationship turned deadly at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District, claiming the life of a 36-year-old man.

The deceased, identified as Emmanuel Somiah, visited his girlfriend Cynthia Nyarko’s residence at approximately 5 p.m. to retrieve personal belongings.

Witnesses report that Emmanuel unexpectedly met another man, known only as Jeff, who was visiting Cynthia, prompting a heated argument that rapidly escalated into a physical confrontation.

As one witness described, “We heard shouting and sounds of a scuffle from the house, but it went quiet shortly after. When I entered, I saw Emmanuel lying motionless. Cynthia claimed she didn’t know what had happened.”

Emmanuel was transported via tricycle to a nearby healthcare facility, where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

Police have apprehended Cynthia Nyarko to facilitate investigations, while efforts are underway to locate Jeff, who is believed to have fled the scene.

The Atwima Mponua District Police Command has assured the public that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
