Being ignored by your record label is cruel; I never signed my life away – Kofi Jamar laments

 

Ghanaian rapper Kofi Jamar has publicly accused his record label, GADone Records, of abandoning him while his contract is still in effect.

Taking to X on August 1, 2025, the “Ekorso” hitmaker revealed that the label has been unresponsive since last year, despite their agreement legally ending this year.

“I’m no longer with @GADoneRecords. For those who’ve been asking, our contract ends legally this year, and they stopped reaching out since last year,” he wrote.

“It’s not fair when you ignore an artiste approaching the end of a contract. At least I need closure. I reached out several times but to no avail.”

In a follow-up post, Jamar emphasized that he has met all obligations under the contract and expected better treatment.

“I never signed my life away. I fulfilled and did everything that was required of me,” he said. Expressing a desire for an amicable resolution, he added,

“I would appreciate it if we could sit down and talk about the remainder of the contract and part ways peacefully. But not hearing anything from the label’s end over a year is cruel.”
