GFA Prez Hails Gianni Infantino at 10 Years of FIFA Leadership

President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has paid tribute to Gianni Infantino’s decade-long leadership of world football, acknowledging the significant impact of the FIFA Forward Programme on Ghana’s football development.
As Infantino marks 10 years as FIFA President, Simeon-Okraku recognized the transformative support Ghana has received through the FIFA Forward initiative, noting its impact on infrastructure, technical development, and grassroots football growth.
The Ghana FA President stated that the Forward Programme has strengthened Ghana’s football foundation, enabling investments in modern facilities, technical capacity, and youth development pathways.
He emphasized that Ghana continues to benefit from FIFA’s strategic vision under Infantino, which prioritizes transparency, development funding, and global competitiveness.
Simeon-Okraku highlighted the improvements at national training centres, including upgraded pitches and accommodation facilities, as evidence of FIFA’s support.
He commended Infantino for expanding opportunities for African football on the global stage, describing his leadership as inclusive and development-driven.
‘As we celebrate a decade of visionary leadership, Ghana remains grateful for the unwavering support that has elevated our football ecosystem,’ he stated.
Infantino was first elected FIFA President in 2016 and has since championed reforms and expanded development funding worldwide, with programmes like FIFA Forward driving football growth across member nations.
