Ghanaian football coach Shaibu Osei Alhassan has reportedly tendered his resignation from his position at FC Ashanti Gold 04, thus bringing a sudden end to a tenure that many perceived as highly promising with the Obuasi-based Division One League side.

According to sources close to MetroTV, Osei decided not to continue in his role following the club’s recent appointment of experienced Ghanaian trainer Abdul Karim Zito as the new head coach.

The development appears to have restructured the technical structure of the club, prompting Osei to opt out rather than remain in a different capacity.

Shaibu Osei Alhassan was appointed head coach of FC Ashanti Gold 04 ahead of the 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League season.

His arrival generated optimism among supporters, given his recent success story. Before joining the Obuasi outfit, Osei served as assistant coach at Hohoe United FC, where he played a key role in the club’s historic promotion to the Ghana Premier League.

His tactical input and behind-the-scenes influence were widely credited for helping secure the club’s topflight ticket.
