Parliament approves GH¢9.8bn for GETFund in 2026

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has been allocated a total of GH¢9.8 billion by Parliament for 2026, to finance projects and programmes across various education sub-sectors.

Educational Resources This allocation includes GH¢4.2 billion for the Free Senior High School policy and GH¢1.5 billion for the tertiary sub-sector.

Moreover, GH¢300 million of the tertiary allocation will support continuing students under the GETFund scholarship scheme and provide new sponsorships for students pursuing programmes locally and abroad.

The 2026 GETFund formula has also allocated GH¢230 million for the completion of basic school infrastructure and GH¢310 million for the construction of new facilities.
