Massive fire guts hundreds of shops at Sofoline Magazine

A devastating fire has ravaged numerous shops and mechanic workshops at Sofoline Magazine in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The blaze erupted at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, engulfing multiple structures, including workshops and vehicles under repair, and destroying substantial quantities of spare parts, equipment, and other merchandise.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service were promptly deployed to the scene and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent properties.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, but the incident has left numerous shop owners and mechanics assessing their losses.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
