A/R: 1 perish, 2 rescued in a ghastly accident at Breku Forest
On Sunday, January 25, 2026, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to a serious road traffic accident at Breku Forest near the Pra River on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.
The accident involved a Howo Sinotruk (AS-4114-24) loaded with cement, which overturned and trapped three persons.
The GNFS stated that a combined rescue team from Konongo–Odumase and Juaso, led by SubO Siaw Richardson, swiftly arrived and successfully extricated two injured victims, who were conveyed to Juaso Government Hospital by an Ambulance Service vehicle (GV-589-20).
One deceased person was retrieved and handed over to the Police, the statement added. The Howo truck suffered serious damage to its head.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The operation reflects the professionalism, bravery, and swift response of GNFS personnel in saving lives.
