Parliament reconvenes February 3

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has formally announced the commencement date of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

In a statement signed on Monday, January 19, 2026, the Speaker designated Parliament House, Accra, as the venue for the session.

‘I, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby appoint Parliament House, Accra, as the place, and 12 noon of Tuesday, 3rd February 2026,’ excerpts of the statement read.

This announcement is his consistent with clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution, which empowers the Speaker of Parliament to set the date and venue for the commencement of Parliament’s sessions.
