Former NPP candidate Valentino Nortey arrested in US over alleged stabbing of wife

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, has been arrested in the U.S. after allegedly stabbing his wife over the weekend, authorities have confirmed.

According to the Lower Paxton Township Police, the incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania.

A report by abc27.com indicated that the stabbing was part of a domestic incident.

“The woman was taken to the hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition,” police confirmed on Monday, adding that there was never any threat to the public.

Mr. Nortey, 41, of Harrisburg, faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide, possessing an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, police said.

Online court records show that Nortey was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied him bail.

He is currently being held at Dauphin County Prison ahead of a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 26, 2026.

Further details surrounding the incident remain limited, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
