‘Have Mercy 2’ was just a freestyle; Sarkodie came with a verse in just five hours – Kofi Kinaata

Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata has revealed that his latest release, Have Mercy 2, was never intended to be a full song.

In an interview on Hitz FM, the singer explained that the track began as a casual studio freestyle he only planned to post on social media. However, after the clip went viral on TikTok, fans flooded his page demanding the full version.

Kinaata said he eventually reached out to Sarkodie, who delivered his verse in just five hours, helping complete the track and “saving the day.”

The musician added that Have Mercy 2 even disrupted his original festive-season release plans, as fans insisted on having the softer, gospel-like song for Christmas instead of the banger he had initially prepared.
