Black Stars set to begin training in Japan on Wednesday

Ghana’s Black Stars are scheduled to begin their preparations in Nagoya on Wednesday, as they prepare for their highly anticipated Kirin Cup encounter against Japan on Friday, November 14, 2025.
With their qualification for their fifth FIFA World Cup secured, Otto Addo’s side is filled with confidence and determined to make a strong impression against the Blue Samurai.
However, Ghana will be missing several key players for the two-match tour, including Captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah, Alexander Djiku, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who have all been ruled out due to various reasons.
In their absence, head coach Otto Addo has assembled a squad that balances youthful energy with valuable international experience, offering opportunities for several emerging talents to shine on the international stage.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against hosts Japan at the Toyota Stadium in Nagoya on Friday, before traveling to Seoul to face South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The two friendly fixtures will serve as crucial tests for Ghana as they continue building cohesion and assessing squad depth ahead of next year’s World Cup preparations.
