The Manhyia Palace has announced a revision to the funeral arrangements for the late highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba. The final funeral rites will now take place on December 13, 2025, instead of the initially proposed date of December 6.

This decision was made during a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, where a new funeral committee, chaired by Dadiesoabahene, was appointed to oversee the arrangements.

Furthermore, Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Akosua Brempomaa, requested a postmortem examination, citing suspicion of foul play surrounding her brother’s death. She also asked that the burial and funeral be deferred until the test results are available to determine the exact cause of death.

The Chiefs decided that the police will handle the postmortem issue and confirmed December 13 as the new funeral date. They also advised the family to remain united and ensure a fitting burial for the celebrated musician.

On the matter of the invocation of the Great Oath, Akosua Brempomaa, who performed the ritual, has been pardoned by the Asantehene. However, she was warned to refrain from such actions in the future.
