Edwin Provencal, former Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST), has been released after satisfying the GH¢30 million bail condition, following a detention period exceeding two weeks in the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The arrest of Mr Provencal occurred at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Monday, November 10, as he attempted to board a flight to Maputo, Mozambique.

Authorities stated that his inclusion on a stop list was part of ongoing investigations into an alleged case of causing financial loss to the state during his tenure at BOST. It was reported that he lacked the required authorisation for his travel.

The arrest drew significant public attention, with supporters expressing concerns regarding the prolonged detention period.

Following his release on Tuesday, November 25, his legal counsel, Charles Okyere, extended gratitude to all who showed solidarity during the period.

“Having met the bail condition, he has been released to go home. He is grateful for the support.”
