CK Akonnor wins Coach of the Month in Kenyan Premier League

Ghanaian tactician C.K. Akonnor has been recognized as the SportPesa League Coach of the Month for October 2025, following Gor Mahia’s impressive three-match winning streak in the Kenyan Premier League.

Akonnor’s exceptional start to the campaign has propelled Gor Mahia to the top of the league standings, with convincing wins over KCB, Posta Rangers, and Mathare United.

The former Black Stars coach credits the team’s early success to his adaptable tactics, which incorporate elements of Arsenal’s fluid playing style.

Since taking the reins as head coach in August, Akonnor has instilled a sense of confidence and discipline within the squad, distinguishing him from fellow contenders Fred Ambani of AFC Leopards and Charles Okere of Tusker.
