Burma Camp Pharmacy Assault: Court Grants Soldier GH¢70,000 Bail

Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) William Mensah of the Ghana Armed Forces, who was captured on CCTV physically assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer at the e-Pride Pharmacy near Burma Camp, has been granted bail.

The incident reportedly began after a brief confrontation over a GH¢65 refund, during which the soldier was seen attacking the staff member and later slapping a female customer who attempted to intervene. The disturbing footage circulated widely on social media, drawing public outrage and calls for disciplinary action.

Appearing before the court, WO1 Mensah was granted GH¢70,000 bail with two sureties, pending further investigation and legal proceedings. The case continues to attract attention, with many Ghanaians demanding accountability and stronger measures to curb abuse of authority.
