“I do all genres; focusing on one will make you go hungry” – Darkovibes says

During his appearance on Bryt Xtra, Ghanaian musician Darkovibes opened up about his creative identity, emphasizing that he refuses to be boxed into any single music genre.
Asked which genre best defines him, he explained that he explores multiple sounds and styles, arguing that no artist should limit themselves if they want to grow.
According to him, sticking strictly to one genre can hinder a musician’s progress — and even affect their livelihood.
“As a creative, you can’t just do one genre. You end up doing others too. If you focus on only one, you’ll go hungry,” he stated.
Darkovibes maintained that versatility is essential in today’s music landscape, both artistically and financially, as it allows musicians to reach wider audiences and stay relevant.
