IGP deploys over 100 police officers for special operation in Ashanti Region

Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohonu has mobilized hundreds of police officers to the Ashanti Region for a classified security operation designed to enhance public safety and maintain law and order.
This deployment is part of the Ghana Police Service’s broader strategy to strengthen its security presence in key areas of the region, promoting peace and stability.
According to Director-General, Technical, COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba, the operation will be conducted in close collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces to maximize effectiveness.
Dr. Gariba urged officers to uphold professionalism, teamwork, and discipline, highlighting the importance of operational integrity and coordination for the mission’s success. ‘A special operation is scheduled to take place in the region. Locations will be disclosed as necessary.
The IGP’s expectation is for officers to demonstrate professionalism, firmness, and robustness, executing tasks as instructed. Group operations are mandatory; isolation is to be avoided,’ he directed.
