GHC350 new passport fee commences November 13 – Ablakwa

Effective Thursday, November 13, 2025, Ghanaians will pay a new passport fee of GHC350, reduced from the initial GHC500, as announced by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The fee reduction forms part of the government’s efforts to ease the financial burden on citizens and improve access to essential public services.
This move also fulfils the government’s promise to review passport processing costs and make travel documents more affordable for Ghanaians.
In his Facebook post on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Ablakwa stated that the adjustment aims to encourage citizens to obtain valid travel documents through official channels, while discouraging the use of middlemen and unauthorized agents.
The new fee structure will be applicable to all Passport Application Centres (PACs) nationwide, covering standard application services.
