“God doesn’t live in buildings” – Efia Odo speaks on modern church culture

Ghanaian media personality Efia Odo has weighed in on the ongoing online debate about faith and youth-church culture in Ghana.

In a series of posts, she criticised the growing obsession with church buildings and formal programmes, arguing that true worship lies in the heart’s connection with God. Citing scriptures such as John 4:21–24 and Acts 17:24, Efia Odo reminded Christians that “God does not live in church buildings… He lives in everything you do.”

Her comments follow renewed social media discussions about the authenticity of modern youth-led church movements and the need for a more personal, spirit-led faith.
