“I never said I was coming to replace Ebony” – Wendy Shay clarifies

Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has dismissed claims that she was brought in to replace the late Ebony Reigns after her passing in 2018.

Speaking on United Showbiz on October 26, 2025, the RuffTown Records artiste stated that neither she nor her manager, Bullet, ever said she was Ebony’s replacement.

Wendy Shay emphasized that her goal has always been to build her own unique identity and not live in anyone’s shadow.

She added that it was only natural for fans to make comparisons after Ebony’s death, but she remains focused on carving her own path in the music industry.
