“I thought social media was for Maame Water” – Piesie Esther admits

Ghanaian gospel musician Piesie Esther has revealed that she once avoided social media, believing it was associated with negativity and “unholy” activities.

In an interview on Hitz FM on October 19, 2025, she admitted that her absence online made people assume she had gone silent in the music scene.

“I used to say social media was for maame wata. Some of the things that were going on were beyond me, so I was never interested,” she shared.

The award-winning gospel singer said her perspective has changed over time as she now understands the power of social media in promoting her music and engaging with fans.

“I wasn’t posting anything for people to know I was actively recording music,” she explained, adding that maturity and experience helped reshape her mindset.
