On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, a coalition of newly posted teachers, comprising university and college of education graduates, staged a protest at Obra Spot, Circle, over unpaid salaries exceeding one year.

The teachers, who have been actively teaching in classrooms since graduating, lamented their distressing situation and vowed to continue protesting until the government addresses their grievances.

They highlighted their diligent teaching services without receiving compensation, emphasizing the need for prompt resolution.

The protesting teachers will march to the Jubilee House and subsequently proceed to the Education and Finance Ministries to present their grievances to the Ministers.

The group maintains that the rally is intended to force the relevant authorities to immediately settle the outstanding arrears and provide the long-awaited personnel ID cards necessary for processing their payments.

Presidential Staffer Bridgette Otoo received a petition from the group at the Jubilee House and assured them that the government would revert to them on their grievances.

‘It is commendable that you have approached the Presidency; this government prioritizes teachers and we should take that into consideration. We do not wish to see our teachers protesting on the streets; it is the last thing we want to see. I hope that now you have brought this to our attention, it will be addressed urgently,’ she assured the teachers.
