A/R: Fire guts Anomangye Market in Suame Municipality

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a devastating fire ravaged the Anomangye Market in the Suame Municipality of the Ashanti Region, leaving scores of shops in ruins.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire began at a charcoal shop around 10:30 p.m. and quickly spread to nearby shops.

Within a short period, several shops were engulfed in flames, with traders suffering substantial losses of a wide range of goods, including vehicle spare parts and provisions.

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) quickly responded to the scene and are still working to bring the situation under control.

Their efforts are focused on containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to other sections of the market.

The extent of damage and the exact cause of the fire are yet to be determined, but many traders have been left counting their losses.
