Investigation board probing Z-9 helicopter crash to complete work within 30 days

Ghana’s Ministry of Defence says the Investigation Board probing the August 6 Z-9 military helicopter crash has formally begun work, with a 30-day mandate to deliver findings and recommendations.

The ministry noted that a preliminary evidence-gathering team convened on the day of the crash has submitted material to support the Board’s inquiry.  

The Board is chaired by the National Security Coordinator with membership drawn from the Ghana Air Force and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority’s Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau.

It may invite additional local and international experts as needed. The United States Air Force is providing technical advice and support to the investigation.
