Global InfoAnalytics: 57% of Ghanaians favor Bawumia to lead NPP

A recent survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics indicates that 57 per cent of Ghanaians favour former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the ideal candidate to lead the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the next general elections.
The findings, released on the organisation’s official social media platforms on Monday, September 29, 2025, reveal that Dr Bawumia remains the most preferred candidate for the NPP among the general voting population.
According to the polling outfit, the Vice President maintains a clear lead amongst his competitors in the NPP across the country, reflecting broad-based appeal among average voters.
Although Dr Bawumia continues to command strong nationwide support, the survey shows that his performance among NPP delegates has faltered in recent weeks.
The data indicates a shift in support among some delegates towards the undecided category.
However, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Bawumia’s nearest challenger, has not succeeded in capitalizing on this shift in support.
The former Assin Central legislator has been unable to translate the Vice President’s losses among delegates into concrete gains for his own campaign, leaving the contest still tilted in favor of Dr. Bawumia.
Global Info Analytics pointed out that this development underscores the Vice President’s resilience among the general public and the uncertainty within the party’s electoral college.
Analysts contend that these findings highlight a potential disparity between the sentiments of grassroots NPP members and the broader electorate as the party prepares to select its flag bearer for the 2028 polls.
