GES announces application openings for teacher promotions to senior ranks.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of the application process for the promotion of eligible teachers and officers to senior positions within the service.
This promotion exercise spans four categories: Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent. GES has stipulated that applications are exclusively open to serving teachers who fulfill the prescribed requirements.
Applicants for Deputy Director must have been promoted to Assistant Director I by 2020 and have remained in their position without interruption, except for approved leave.
To be considered for Assistant Director I, candidates must have achieved Assistant Director II by 2020, under identical conditions.
Likewise, candidates for Assistant Director II must have been promoted to Principal Superintendent by 2020, and applicants for Principal Superintendent must have achieved Senior Superintendent I by 2020. Furthermore, teachers who have completed an approved undergraduate degree will be automatically assigned to this level.
According to the GES, teachers who intend to use Master’s or PhD degrees for promotion must ensure the program was part of the approved GES course of study.
Additionally, the certificate must not have been obtained prior to their last promotion, and only certificates acquired in or before 2022 will be accepted for promotions to Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Deputy Director ranks.
The GES advises applicants to submit their forms online through https://bit.ly/gespromotions2025 or by scanning the official QR code provided. Each applicant must upload a passport-size photograph, their last promotion or appointment letter, and their highest academic certificate.
All supporting documents, except the photograph, must be uploaded in PDF format and should be clear and legible.
