The helicopter crash has robbed Ghanaians of dedicated public servants and gallant officers, says Kwabena Adu-Boahene.

Former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, has described last Wednesday’s fatal Z-9 military helicopter crash as a devastating blow to the nation, saying it has “robbed Ghanaians of dedicated public servants and gallant officers.”
The crash, which claimed eight lives—including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and senior Ghana Air Force officers—occurred while the delegation was on an official mission to address illegal mining in the Ashanti Region.
Mr. Adu-Boahene praised the victims as selfless leaders and courageous officers who served Ghana with distinction, adding that their sudden demise leaves a vacuum in governance, environmental protection, and national security.
He urged the nation to honour their legacy by continuing the causes they championed, noting that their commitment to service, even in dangerous circumstances, reflected the highest ideals of patriotism and duty.
