Krofrom market to be commissioned in December 2026 – Kumasi Mayor

Kumasi Mayor, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, has expressed optimism that the stalled Krofrom Market will meet its revised completion deadline of December 24, 2026.

He asserts that beneficiary traders will have a positive experience in December as contractors, who previously abandoned the project, are set to resume work in September this year.

In a recent interview on Nhyira FM’s ‘Kuro yi mu nsem’ show, Mr. Boadi emphasized that President Mahama remains committed to the market’s completion.

According to Mr. Boadi, the market is expected to be operationalized on schedule, enabling traders to relocate to the market promptly.

However, concerns persist that contractual and funding obligations, which previously delayed the project, may resurface.
