It has always been my dream to have Daddy Lumba perform ‘Asie Ho’ at my wedding – Efia Odo

Ghanaian actress and media personality, Efia Odo has shared a touching tribute to the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, revealing that she always dreamed of him performing at her wedding.

According to her, Asie Ho was her favorite track from the music icon, and it held such deep meaning that she hoped he would one day sing it live as she walked down the aisle.

“I wanted him to perform that song for me at my wedding… ‘Asie Ho’ was my favorite; the video, the energy, and the vibe—Daddy Lumba was a vibe,” she said.

Reflecting on his legacy, Efia described Daddy Lumba as a national treasure whose music embodied Ghanaian culture. “You didn’t need to know him personally to feel his presence—his music transcended,” she stated.

She recalled growing up around his music because her uncle was one of Lumba’s close friends, making his passing feel deeply personal. “This is one of the biggest blows to Ghanaians and the industry. It’s a very sad day for Ghana.”
