Ghana raises cocoa farmgate price from GH¢3,100 to GH¢3,228.75 per bag of 64-kg
Government has increased the cocoa producer price to $5,040 per tonne, up from $3,100, effective August 7, 2025.
This adjustment moves the local price from GHS49,600 to GHS51,660 per tonne, and from GHS3,100 to GHS3,228.75 per 64-kg bag, aligning with President Mahama’s pledge to give farmers 70% of the Free-On-Board value.
The move is expected to boost farmer earnings and reflects Ghana’s commitment to strengthening its cocoa sector amid global price surges.
