The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released GH¢15,849,920 nationwide to cover the costs associated with the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) practical fees for Form Three learners.
According to the GES, the measure aims to ensure that all schools are adequately resourced in preparation for the practical examinations.
A press statement signed and issued by the Head of Public Relations at the GES, Daniel Fenyi, clarified that the released funds would cover the provision of necessary materials and essential resources required to conduct the practicals smoothly.
The statement underscored the government’s commitment to alleviating the financial burden on parents and guardians, thereby enabling students to focus fully on their academic preparation.
“With the release of the funds, GES aims to facilitate a seamless and well-coordinated examination process that allows students to concentrate on their academic pursuits while alleviating the financial burden on parents and guardians,” the statement read.
The statement urged regional, district, and school authorities to ensure the proper application of the funds for their intended purpose to guarantee efficiency and accountability.
“Management will continue to monitor the utilisation processes to ensure compliance and to maintain high standards in the administration of the examination,” it stated.
The statement expressed the GES’s appreciation for the cooperation of all stakeholders in promoting quality education and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an environment conducive to the success of all students.
