The Ghana Health Service (GHS) reports 16 new Mpox cases, bringing the total confirmed infections to 234 as of July 18, 2025.

This is an increase from 218 cases announced on July 14. The GHS states no new deaths have occurred, maintaining zero Mpox-related deaths.

There are currently no hospital admissions due to the disease. Mpox is a viral infection spread mainly through direct contact with infected individuals.

The GHS advises the public to avoid close contact with infected persons, frequently wash hands with soap and water, avoid touching rashes or body fluids, and use protective clothing when caring for the unwell. Mpox symptoms often begin with fever and body aches, followed by a rash appearing on the face, chest, hands, or genitals.

While most recover without complications, the disease poses serious health risks for children, pregnant women, and individuals with underlying conditions.

The public is advised to rely on trusted sources for information and report suspected cases to health authorities promptly.
