A horrific incident occurred on February 14, 2025, leaving the northern transport operators in shock. An ADT Transport Company Limited bus was brutally attacked, resulting in six fatalities and millions of cedis worth of property destroyed.
The bus, with registration number GR-7501-21, was traveling from Widana to Pulmakom with 45 passengers on board when it was ambushed by an unidentified group near Walewale.
Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing scene, describing how the attackers shot one person dead on the spot, set the bus ablaze, and left four passengers with severe burns. One of the critically injured passengers later succumbed to their injuries.
ADT Transport Company Limited, a reputable transport operator with seven years of service, is now calling on the government for urgent assistance.
The company’s spokesperson, Mr. Richard Kofi Karikari, appealed to the government to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide support to replace the burnt bus or offer monetary assistance.

Furthermore, Karikari emphasized the need for enhanced security measures to protect transport operators plying the Northern Territory.
He urged the government to install more police barriers and increase police presence along the route to prevent such incidents in the future.
