Daasebre Akuamoah I Boateng III,Okwahu hene has donated an amount of Gh200,000 to aid traders whose businesses were devastated by the recent fire at Kantamanto Market on the 2nd of January this year .
The donation, which aims to support the reconstruction efforts and also assist the affected traders in restoring their livelihoods and ensuring the market’s eventual return to full operation was presented on his behalf by Kwahu Abetifihene, Akyemfuor Asiedu Agyemang III, Kwahu Tafohene,Nana Kwasi Opoku Mintah II and Kwahu Pepeasehene, Nana Bonsu Ayirepe II.
Speaking on behalf of Kwahu hene, Akyemfuor Asiedu Agyemang III, Abetifihene reiterated the support of Kwahu Chiefs as a whole to the traders of Kantamanto and also expressed sympathy for the traders’ losses.
Akyemfuor Asiedu further pleaded with government to collaborate with the traders for a modern market since Kantamanto market has helped in the reduction of unemployment.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the traders ,Aikins Boakye Mensah who’s the redevelopment committee chairman expressed immense gratitude to Kwahuhene and the entire Kwahu Chiefs for remembering and supporting them in this toughest moment.
He additionally appealed to all and sundry for support in terms of iron rods and fencing of the market and also outlined measures put in place to avoid such disaster.
