Angola’s national coach, Pedro Goncalves, has called out Ghana’s football infrastructure, saying the country deserves a better pitch and national stadium.
This comes after Angola’s 1-0 victory over Ghana’s Black Stars in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Goncalves expressed disappointment with the state of the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, echoing concerns raised by players about the pitch’s condition.
Goncalves emphasized that Ghana, with its talented players, warrants superior football facilities. “A country like Ghana deserves a better stadium, a better pitch for football.
They have lovely players,” he said in a post-match interview, This criticism highlights the need for Ghana to invest in its football infrastructure to support its talented team and passionate fans.
The loss marks a tough start for Ghana in their quest to qualify for AFCON 2025, while Angola celebrated a historic victory on Ghanaian soil.
As Ghana moves forward, upgrading its football infrastructure will be crucial in supporting its national team’s success.
